rainbows, rabbits & reunions

This Easter marked the 50th year of my family’s annual reunion. Pretty crazy stuff! The week was full of hugs, chats, food, sun, sand, games, laughs and LOTS of babies. It was also a celebration of what Jesus Christ did for us on the cross to restore us to relationship with our Creator God. It’s always my favorite week of the year!

I had the privilege of designing our t-shirts for the reunion, which each family group wore in a different color for the big picture. I call it “The Savoie Family Rainbow.”

While we were at it, we went ahead and got one of the Berry crew. How cute are we?

In the weeks leading up to Easter, I wanted to do something that would really bless my family. So I embarked on a watercolor painting of our family tree. It had been a while since I had used my paints, so it was a bit slow going at first. But I’ve pushed through and here is the final product:

Here are just a few more fun pics – including plenty of my sweet nephews. Here’s Ethan taking a bite out of his mom’s bread bowl at Lambert’s (so sneaky!)

Our friends Jeremy & Shelley drove up from their home in Ft. Walton Beach to spend one morning with us. Kev went to bible college with them both in Sydney (which also happens to be where they met and fell in love). Loved getting to spend some time with them!

A sweatshirt at the beach? Mom’s into it.

All the boys piled up on Pops

Friday night tradition – Boiled Ruby Reds… which apparently includes Liam’s foot up on the table.

Let’s get crazy.

Couldn’t resist including this one of my little cousin Johnny’s awesome smile.

Meet Andrée, the oldest of my godmother’s 8 children. Can’t believe how grown up she is! Such a stunner.

Lastly, here is a gorgeous sunset shot by Kev. He’s quite the photographer, which you may already know (if you follow him on Instagram).

And there you go! Thank you for sharing this milestone event with me in the life of my family. Kev and I are so blessed to be part of such a loving, generous and BIG family. Looking forward to year 51!
